Marcus offensive tackle Ty Cloud (6-4, 300) picked up his third college football offer two weeks ago, from Southern Mississippi.

The Golden Eagles are coached by former Oklahoma State coach Larry Fedora, who knows the North Texas area very well.

Cloud also has offers from Kansas and Houston.

For now, Cloud considers Kansas his leader. He was expected to attend the Jayhawks’ camp last Friday.

At Flower Mound, tight end Craig Wenrick (6-6, 225) has offers from Buffalo and Iowa State, while safety Michael Williams (6-2, 200) has an offer from the United States Military Academy.

Wide receiver/defensive back Collin Ashley (6-0, 190) continues to hold an offer from Wake Forest but was expected to attend Texas A&M’s camp last week.

A 7-on-7 tournament scheduled for this past Wednesday at SMU could be big for another Flower Mound wide receiver, James Kelly.

Kelly has a scholarship offer from Fresno State. However, he said he is very interested in SMU.

Carroll End a Popular Guy

It’s been a busy summer for Carroll defensive end Braydon Burnett. He is very popular among BCS football programs.

Among approximately 25 schools to make offers are Missouri, Colorado, Arizona State, Arizona, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, California, Michigan State, Oregon, Kansas and Iowa State. Another from Michigan could be coming.

In the last three weeks, he has visited Missouri, Colorado, Michigan, Michigan State, Arizona and Arizona State. These are all unofficial visits.

Without question, he is the most heavily recruited Carroll player since quarterback Chase Daniel in 2004. Daniel was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2007.

"It’s all a blessing," Burnett said. "There are so many great schools out there. I just have to look at them and want to enjoy the moment. It’s a lot of fun. But the most important thing for me is to find the right fit."

Burnett (6-3, 240) also plans on taking unofficial visits to Arkansas, California and Wisconsin. He is listed as the 22nd best defensive end in the nation by Rivals100.com.
