The Grapevine-Colleyville Divers competitive springboard diving team recently competed in the Junior National championships, where it claimed its fourth consecutive national title, including four individual winners.
Jordan Morcom, Bryce Klein, Bradley Christensen and Mike Christensen all claimed the top prize in their respective divisions.
According to a news release, "We came into the meet knowing we had to really perform to take the title again. We had some fantastic finishes, and everyone really came together to make this happen. They were ready."
In addition, four of the divers qualified to attend an international diving competition in England at the end of May, including Bryce Klein, Bradley Christensen, Shannon Lumbra, who was a 14-15 girl qualifier, and Alex Fincher, who qualified for the boys in the 14-15 year age group.
Coach Krista Klein said she was very pleased with the outcome at nationals.
"We had some amazing finishes at the meet," Klein said in an e-mail. "We won because all of the divers who qualified from our team contributed to the win."
The following divers competed for the GC Divers at the national meet:
In the 16-18 age group, Morcom, Katie Lybbert, Kelsey Burgin, Callan Buck and Tyler Dorshorst; in the 14-15 age group, Fincher, Mike Christensen and Lumbra; in the 12-13 age group, Klein, Bradley Christensen, Carson Klein, Sarah Mussellman, Larkin Papa and Rachel Williams, and in the 11 and under group, Emma Peavler, Emily Grund and Sloane Papa.
