Rattlers Win Open Tournament

The Texas Rattlers 10-and-under baseball team recently took first place at the Open Tournament at Dr Pepper Youth Ballpark in Arlington.

The Rattlers defeated THA Tx Stix by a 6-4 final to win the championship game.

The Rattlers were presented with luxury suite tickets to the Rangers game against the Phillies and fireworks that evening as a result of the championship victory.

Team members include Davis Rogers, Zac Cook, Evan Gilbert, Derek Wells, Caleb Kilian, Matt Fischer, Cooper Rentfro, Brett Francis, Grayson Gurksnis, and Skyler Cox. The team is coached by Dennis Cook, Gary Wells, Don Fischer, and Stewart Cox. The Texas Rattlers are based in Flower Mound.

Lady Express Win Season Tourney

The 8-and-under Flower Mound Lady Express basketball team recently completed its season in the Grapevine Parks and Recreation league, finishing in second place during the regular season.

However, the team defeated the previously unbeaten first-place team to win the end of season tournament.

The Express competed in the Division A summer basketball league.

Team members include Lexi Stotler, Mikayla Roof, Morgan Mzyk, Madison Ralston, Raegan Smith, Madison Mzyk, Erin Kelley, Grace Meador and Emma Barr. Roy Ralston is the team coach.

Gall Offers Soccer Camps for Youngsters

Marcus soccer coach John Gall continues to conduct youth speed camps this summer, which take place at Castlewood Soccer Field in Highland Village.

The speeds camps will take place Aug. 4-7, from 8:30-11 a.m. and 6-8:30 p.m.

The cost is $100 per player.Gall is head coach of the Marcus boys soccer team, the back-to-back 5A state champions.
