Highland Village Lions Club
David Johnson
Johnson’s project was to supervise the construction of boardwalk sections, which were donated to the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area allowing people to be able to see the native flora and fauna during periods of time when the area is flooded. He is an 18-year-old senior at Marcus High School and is the son of Richard and Denise Johnson of Flower Mound.
He began Scouting in Pack 262, where he earned Cub Scouting’s highest award, the Arrow of Light. David graduated to Boy Scouts, where he earned 24 merit badges on his trail to Eagle, as well as becoming a member of Scouting’s National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow.

Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound
Austin Acosta
Acosta’s project was to refurbish the 34-by-16-feet U.S. outdoor map at Prairie Trail Elementary School. He sandblasted and power-washed the concrete drive and with the help of 19 volunteers, repainted the map with colored acrylic concrete paint. He is a 17-year-old junior at Marcus High School, where he is a member of the theater department. His parents are Julian and Kim Acosta of Flower Mound.
Acosta began Scouting as a Tiger in Cub Scout Pack 262, where he earned Cub Scouting’s highest award, the Arrow of Light, graduated to Boy Scouts, where he earned 31 merit badges on his trail to Eagle, as well as becoming a member of Scouting’s National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow.

Church of Jesis Christ of Latter-day Saints
Sam Elmer
Elmer, 14, oversaw the construction and placement of directional signs for the Tsungani YMCA Camp in Highland Village. He is a freshman at Flower Mound High School and son of Joe and Stephanie Elmer.
Foster Pratt
Pratt, 17, recruited and organized groups of people to travel to the American Red Cross facilities in Dallas twice a month, for three months, to clean and restock the American Red Cross emergency vehicles.
He is a senior at Flower Mound High School and son of Emron and Julia Pratt.

First Baptist Church in Highland Village
David Bell
Bell’s project was to construct a permanent path leading to the outdoor classroom at Heritage Elementary School. In order to build this pathway, he had to first clear out all the debris. He is a 17-year-old senior at Marcus High School and is the son of John and Lisa Bell of Highland Village.
He began Scouting in Cub Scout Pack 1163, where he earned Cub Scouting’s highest award, the Arrow of Light, graduated to Boy Scouts, where he earned 29 merit badges on his trail to Eagle, as well as becoming a member of Scouting’s National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow.

Flower Mound Rotary Club
Andrew Holzschuh
Holzschuh raised over $800 to build seven wood sections of the new Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area wetland trail. His boardwalk sections contribute to a collection of 200 or more sections, to create a trail that will enable the public to get close and observe wetland wildlife around Lake Lewisville.
The trail will also be an educational experience available to the public, as well as schools, ranging from elementary field trips to biological field tests by area universities. He is a 17-year-old senior at Lewisville High School and is the son of Dan and Keri Holzschuh of Lewisville.
He began Scouting as a Webelo in Cub Scout Pack 729, where he earned Cub Scouting’s highest award, the Arrow of Light, graduated to Boy Scouts, where he earned 35 merit badges on his trail to Eagle.
He and his father went on two high adventure camps, Northern Tier, a 50-mile canoe and hiking trip in the boundary waters of Northern Minnesota, and Sea Base, a week of sailing and snorkeling in the waters of the Florida Keys.

Westside Baptist Church, Lewisville
Ernest D. Levert Jr.
For his Eagle Scout Project, Levert constructed mobile storage units with three units supporting tables and three supporting metal folding chairs.
The process included determining measurements and design, calculating costs, coordinating building schedules, preparation of materials, assembling and welding parts.
He is a junior at Marcus High School, where he is a member of numerous activities including football, English Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Academic Decathlon, and the National Honor Society, among others. He has served as senior patrol leader, patrol leader, and assistant patrol leader and quartermaster.
