Wes Bennett
Bennett’s Eagle project involved a book drive to collect books for the Town of Flower Mound Library annual book sale fund raiser in April.
The proceeds bought new books and supported the Summer Reading Program for the citizens of Flower Mound. The book drive utilized a neighborhood campaign and in-store/business collection bins, which collected a total of 1,417 books and 23 videos.
Bennett is a 2008 graduate of Flower Mound High School and is a member of Troop 2 which is chartered by Faith Lutheran Church.
He began as a member of Cub Scout Pack 92, earning Cub Scouting’s highest award, the Arrow of Light. He graduated to Boy Scouts and earned 27 merit badges on his trail to Eagle.
He is the son of Chris and Susan Bennett of Flower Mound.
Theodore Matthew Bloechle
Bloechle’s Eagle project was to design and build two arbors for Flower Mound Elementary School. From start to finish, they took two months to complete and were placed in the butterfly garden.
He will be a 15-year-old sophomore at Marcus High School. Bloechle is a member of Troop 123, which is chartered by the Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church.
He began Scouting as a Tiger in Cub Scout Pack 262, earning the Arrow of Light. Bloechle graduated to Boy Scouts and earned 33 merit badges on his trail to Eagle, as well as becoming a member of Scouting’s National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow.
He is the son of Brent and Marie Bloechle of Double Oak.
Clayton Conrad
Conrad chose to install a landscape irrigation system for a recently constructed bath house/restroom facility at Lake Lewisville Park as his Eagle project at the suggestion of Bob Monaghan at the Lewisville Parks and Leisure Services.
The project included coordinating with city engineers and planners to secure the irrigation system plans and parts list, obtaining the necessary parts and tools, and organizing a team of more than a dozen volunteers to install the system.
Conrad solicited several local businesses to get all of the irrigation supplies donated [$850 in value], in addition to food and drinks for the crew for the 12-hour project.
At the end of the day, the park had a fully functional irrigation system to add beauty to the facility and ensure its longevity by helping to prevent erosion around the building.
Conrad is a senior at Flower Mound High School and a member of Troop 262, which is chartered by the Highland Village Lions Club.
Conrad began Scouting as a Cub Scout in Pack 256 earning the Arrow of Light. Conrad graduated to Boy Scouts and earned 21 merit badges on his trail to Eagle, as well as becoming a member of the Order of the Arrow.
He is the son of Eric and Donna Conrad of Flower Mound.
Alexander John Gunter
Gunter’s Eagle project was to organize the completion of 200 activity packets for the children visiting the Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County.
He is a 16-year-old junior at Flower Mound High School and is a member of Troop 2, which is chartered by Faith Lutheran Church.
Gunter began Scouting as a Tiger in Cub Scout Pack 92 earning the Arrow of Light. He graduated to Boy Scouts and earned 26 merit badges on his trail to Eagle, as well as becoming a member of the Order of the Arrow.
He is the son of John and Cathy Gunter of Flower Mound and younger brother to Max Gunter, also an Eagle Scout.
Spencer Jordan
Jordan’s Eagle project was a tree conservation venture, which consisted of buying and planting six trees in Memorial Park. His project has sparked a flurry of similar tree planting projects around the park’s sidewalk.
Jordan will be a 17-year-old senior at Lewisville High School in the fall and is a member of Troop 729 which is chartered by the Flower Mound Rotary Club.
He began Scouting as a Tiger in Cub Scout Pack 729 earning the Arrow of Light. He graduated to Boy Scouts and earned 33 merit badges on his trail to Eagle.
He is the son of Carter and Mary Lynn Jordan of Lewisville and younger brother to Joshua Jordan, also an Eagle Scout.
Alex Thomas Mitchell
Mitchell’s Eagle project was to mark a series of multi-use trails in the Wellington neighborhood covering a total of six miles. He put down markers at quarter mile increments, as well as marking the total distance.
He is a 17-year-old senior at Flower Mound High School and is a member of Troop 2, which is chartered by Faith Lutheran Church.
Mitchell began Scouting as a Cub Scout in Pack 256 earning the Arrow of Light. He graduated to Boy Scouts and earned 26 merit badges on his trail to Eagle.
He is the son of Tom and Carolyn Mitchell of Flower Mound.
Frank W. Seddio, Jr.
Seddio’s Eagle project was to create a "Landscape Sitting Garden" at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery for family members of Veterans to sit and meditate.
Seddio is 16 years old and will be a junior at Marcus High School. He is a member of Troop 280, which is chartered by the Highland Village Lions Club.
He began Scouting as a Tiger in Cub Scout Pack 298 earning the Arrow of Light. He graduated to Boy Scouts and earned 34 merit badges on his trail to Eagle, as well as becoming a member of the Order of the Arrow.
He is the son of Frank and Christi Seddio of Lewisville.
Tim Solow
Solow’s Eagle project was to assemble and install a water collection system for the Hopi Nation inhabitants in Second Mesa, Ariz. The project included assembling 90 feet of guttering, which fed into two 100-gallon rainwater drums and one 200-gallon drum. His system was built to be a tool for the Hopi people to collect and use rainwater for farming crops.
Solow will be an 18-year-old senior at Marcus High School and is a member of Troop 19, which is chartered by the Summit Club of Flower Mound.
He began Scouting as a Cub Scout and later graduated to Boy Scouts, where he has earned 22 merit badges on his trail to Eagle. He is the son of Mark and Ruth Solow of Highland Village.
Kenneth Walter Erwin Wood
Wood’s Eagle project was to build doors on a shed at the Solutions of North Texas rehab facility. Prior to his project, the facility had no secure storage area.
Wood is an 18-year-old 2008 graduate of Marcus High School and a member of Troop 262, which is chartered by the Highland Village Lions Club.
Wood began Scouting as a Tiger in Cub Scout Pack 262 earning the Arrow of Light. He graduated to Boy Scouts and earned 27 merit badges on his trail to Eagle, as well as becoming a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Wood attended Florida Sea Base two times, an island in the Florida Keys, and at Philmont Scout Ranch in the New Mexico Mountains he hiked 70-plus miles. Wood plans to enlist in the Army’s armored infantry. He was a four-year member of Marcus HS JROTC program and attends Lamb of God Church.
He is the son of Stanley and Kneila Wood of Double Oak.
