Flower Mound CAC Ribbon Cutting on Friday

The Flower Mound Community Activities Center [CAC] had a special ribbon-cutting and VIP celebration on Friday night.
In attendance were past and current Town Council members, town staff, plus commissioners and board members from Planning & Zoning, the Environmental Conservation Commission, and the PALS [Parks, Arts and Library Science] Board, Denton County Commissioner Bobbie Mitchell, and other dignitaries.
A special presentation was made to Levenia Gerault. She and her late husband, Andre, gave the land for the CAC to the Town of Flower Mound. Following the presentation of a bouquet to her, Mayor Pro Tem Tim Trotter gave a good natured lesson on the correct pronounciation of the name "Gerault."
"Some people who don’t know any better say 'Jer-awlt,’ but that’s not it," Trotter instructed. "It’s 'jer-oh,’ so as you drive down the road, just repeat the rhyme – 'go slow ... when you drive down Gerault.’"
