Responding to residents’ concerns about previous maintenance issues, Flower Mound Undeveloped Park Land Subcommittee members vowed at its May 6 meeting it wouldn’t create something it will not support.

The Highland Village City Council meeting on Tuesday featured the swearing in of re-elected incumbents Mayor Dianne Costa, Place 2 Councilmember Don Combs, Place 4 Councilmember Louis Robichaux and Place 6 Councilmember Dr. Scott McDearmont. Named as the Mayor Pro Tem was Dr. Scott McDearmont and Louis Robichaux was selected as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem. The oath of office was administered by Highland Village City Secretary Alicia Richardson.

Despite opposition from Flower Mound residents, the Flower Mound Planning & Zoning Commission approved, 3-2 vote, rezoning 7.63 acres from agricultural to a planned development district with office and retail uses.

The Topsanah District, in the Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts of America, has announced local Eagle Scouts. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank in the BSA and only 5 percent of all Boy Scouts earn the award.

While the Chili’s restaurant chain has supported the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital nationwide for years, the two Flower Mound locations are sponsoring a very special fundraiser on May 31.
